Local Author To Teach Writing for Wellness at Kapucia
On Sunday 22nd May Gill Torres, local children’s author and former magazine editor, will host the first Soul Scripting – Writing for Wellness workshop at Kapucia wellness centre on Lord Street. The one day workshop, which will take place between 10:30am and 4:30pm, aims to help people to release the past and begin manifesting a bright future, by using writing techniques to tune into their inner voice.
Suitable for everyone from the complete novice to the most prolific writer, the workshop will lead participants on a journey, beginning by aiding them to hear their inner voice and guiding them to a place where it works for them, rather than the other way around! Those who attend will then be able to use the exercises as often as they like for the rest of their lives.
Gill Torres is experienced in many writing styles. Most notably she edited several Liverpool magazines before setting up her own title, Down South Liverpool Magazine, in 2011. Since the successful handover of that title she has gone on to publish children’s book The Girl Who Could See Stories with illustrator Ilan Sheady. Soul Scripting – Writing for Wellness combines Gill’s writing expertise with her long-standing passion for spirituality and natural, holistic health.
Gill said:
“There is something about emptying your head onto a page that can leave you feeling lighter. Writing can be a powerful tool for wellness and it’s so simple. Anyone can access these techniques with nothing more than a pad and a pen. It doesn’t matter whether you consider yourself to be creative or not – you don’t have to share it with anyone. We all have an inner voice, so we can all learn to harness that. I can’t remember a time before I used writing as my means of processing the world. I look forward to sharing a few of the most powerful exercises I have learned over the years.
“I can’t think of anywhere more perfect to be launching this new workshop. Kapucia is such a wonderful centre that hosts some amazing events. I feel really privileged to joining the line-up.”
Sarah McBride, owner of Kapucia said:
“Our aim at Kapucia is to provide the people of Liverpool with access to experts in all areas of alternative heath and natural wellness. I have personally had some powerful experiences as a result of using techniques similar to the ones that Gill will be guiding people through during the workshop. Miraculous things can happen when we learn to harness our inner voice. Soul Scripting – Writing for Wellness is a great addition to the Kapucia offering and we look forward to playing host to the first session.”
The one-day workshop is £45 and can be booked online via www.kapucia.com. Information can also be found on the related Facebook event at https://www.facebook.com/events/460271287516020. To be added to the invitation list for future sessions email gill@diddid.co.uk.
